Staff Portables and Power Quality Engineer

Oura's Supply Chain team is looking for a Senior Product Quality Manager in San Francisco, sitting at the crossroads of manufacturing, R&D, and supply chain to ensure every ring shipped meets rigorous health-accuracy and jewelry-like craftsmanship standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting NPI through FATP development builds, ramp-up, mass production, and steady-state expansion
  • Bridging Design, Engineering, and Operations, translating technical risks into actionable business decisions
  • Analyzing build failure data to identify design and process marginalities
  • Leading build readiness reviews covering equipment readiness, process qualification, and post-build quality data analysis
  • Establishing and enforcing the "premium" quality standard via cosmetic specifications and golden/limit samples
  • Identifying and communicating design and process risks using data-driven approaches
  • Establishing sub-assembly/system-level spec limits and process control limits
  • Validating that contract manufacturer processes meet cosmetic, reliability, and functional design intent

Requirements

  • 7+ years in Product Quality, Supplier Manufacturing, Manufacturing Quality Engineering, or Process Engineering
  • Experience in System Integration environments (FATP)
  • Quality engineering experience in high-volume handheld/wearable or consumer products with high cosmetic standards
  • Experience qualifying and auditing manufacturing processes (PSA/HAF attach, epoxy dispense/molding/curing, solder/hotbar/laser weld)
  • Experience developing robust IQC/IPQC/OQC controls (AOI/cosmetics, sampling plans, SOP/MSOP, user-based testing, dimensional control)
  • Understanding of quality principles and tools (GRR, SPC, FA/CA, 8D, FMEA, DOE)
  • Understanding of manufacturing principles and tools (DFM, GD&T, Six Sigma)
  • Self-driven problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments
  • Highly organized, able to communicate complex concepts clearly in presentations and writing
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 40%
