Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer

Oura is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer to lead the end-to-end test strategy, development, and deployment of production test solutions, partnering closely with cross-functional teams and global contract manufacturers to ensure scalable, reliable test processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design for Testability (DFT): drive early and ongoing manufacturing involvement for robust, scalable, cost-effective testing
  • Define test requirements together with Hardware, Systems, and Product teams
  • Incorporate DFMEA/PFMEA, engineering specifications, and test coverage analysis into product design
  • Own test engineering across the full product lifecycle (POC/Proto/EVT/DVT/PVT, ramp, mass production)
  • Provide hands-on production support for complex test issues and yield excursions
  • Architect, design, and deploy manufacturing test stations and processes
  • Develop test software and automation in Python, C, C++, Rust (instrument control, data acquisition, test sequencing, factory dashboards)
  • Apply statistical tools (GR&R, SPC, Cp/Cpk, DOE) to ensure test capability and repeatability
  • Lead failure analysis across test stations, products, and manufacturing processes
  • Act as the primary technical interface to contract manufacturers: test development, qualification, deployment, sustaining
  • Cross-functional and executive communication, status reporting

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, test engineering, or automation
  • Hands-on experience developing manufacturing test software in Python, C, C++, Rust
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Experience supporting development builds and mass production with global manufacturing partners
  • Willingness to travel 30-50% across domestic and international factory sites
  • Experience with wearables, consumer electronics, sensors, or embedded systems
  • Strong background in test station qualification and correlation (calibration, GR&R, Cp/Cpk, DOE)
  • Cross-functional experience with hardware, firmware, systems, quality, and operations teams
  • Familiarity with optical, RF, or semiconductor-based test methodologies
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a global, fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication across cultures and time zones
