Mobile Engineering Manager

Oura's Software Engineering organization is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of Android and iOS engineers delivering and maintaining the Oura app's features.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Android and iOS engineers as they design, build, ship, and maintain Oura app features
  • Oversee delivery of highly technical cross-functional projects, collaborating closely with EU-based teams
  • Contribute to planning and scoping of critical projects, owning execution and delivery
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Science, Research, Data Science, Regulatory and Marketing stakeholders
  • Mentor reports to develop their skills and foster professional growth
  • Provide technical leadership and contribute to technical discussions
  • Champion engineering excellence, establish key metrics, drive continuous operational improvements

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years in software engineering, of which 2+ years as a manager of engineers
  • Technical degree or equivalent software engineering work experience
  • Experience managing Android and/or iOS engineers
  • Experience with agentic coding and AI development workflows
  • Experience shipping consumer-facing mobile applications or the systems powering them
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum processes, advocating for process improvements
  • Strong communication, project management and delegation skills
  • Strong people management skills, balancing recognition with constructive feedback

Nice to have

  • 8+ years in software engineering, of which 4+ years as a manager
  • Prior professional native Android or iOS development experience
  • Experience in fitness, health, wellness, or women's health products
  • Experience with FDA-regulated products or other regulated health industries
  • Experience with wearable devices and/or machine learning algorithms
  • Experience with complex projects spanning mobile, backend, data science, firmware and QA, including release management
  • Collaborative experience working asynchronously across countries and time zones
