AI Product Engineer

AI Product Engineer at Bunkerhill Health, owning product features end-to-end on a healthcare AI platform that processes over 200,000 CT scans and millions of patient records per year.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of product features, from ideation and design to implementation, testing and deployment
  • Build and deploy agentic workflows at scale
  • Collaborate across disciplines with clinicians, end users and non-technical team members
  • Support code reviews and help teammates design robust solutions
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and suggest improvements to the stack and processes
  • Communicate proactively, keep timelines clear, and unblock yourself and others when needed

Requirements

  • 2+ years of full-time software engineering experience
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Proficiency in at least one backend language, primarily Python or Rust
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
  • Genuine interest in applying technology to improve healthcare
  • Comfort using AI coding tools

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with infrastructure tooling: Kubernetes, Helm, Kustomize, Terraform, AWS/GCP
  • Experience with Python frameworks such as Django or Celery
  • Experience with or interest in Rust
  • Familiarity with frontend languages and frameworks: TypeScript, React
  • Willingness to interface with end users and assist with use case discovery
  • Comfort interacting with LLM tooling and agentic workflows

There are no product managers, so AI Product Engineers take on much of that role. The team works from a sunny office in SoMa, San Francisco, four days a week.
