Responsibilities

• ▹Break down and execute the technical roadmap defined by leadership across a fully distributed team, owning sprint commitments and release cycles across time zones
• ▹Balance planned vs. reactive work, building frameworks for ad-hoc bug triage and prioritization without disrupting sprints
• ▹Own incident management and on-call: design sustainable, distributed on-call rotations and post-mortem culture to reduce MTTR
• ▹Design asynchronous workflows that minimize the need for real-time meetings
• ▹Track and optimize DORA metrics (deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate, time to restore service)
• ▹Standardize the team's use of AI development tools (e.g. Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code)
• ▹Manage, mentor and coach a team of ~10 engineers globally, running regular 1-on-1s

Requirements

• ▹2+ years directly managing a team of ~10 software engineers, with a track record running globally distributed, asynchronous teams
• ▹Active use of AI development tools with a clear view of where they accelerate delivery and where they introduce risk
• ▹Proven experience building triage systems for ad-hoc bugs and running real-time incident management for high-stakes production systems
• ▹Exceptional written communication, defaulting to documentation and public channels over ad-hoc calls
• ▹Practical experience using DORA metrics or similar frameworks to diagnose engineering bottlenecks
• ▹Strong technical grounding to navigate code reviews and modern cloud workflows without writing production code daily

Nice to have

• ▹Prior engineering management experience in Supply Chain, Logistics or E-commerce
• ▹Experience with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce) or cross-border shipping, tracking and customs APIs
