Senior Backend Engineer

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Design and evolve high-performance backend services in Java and Spring, within a hexagonal architecture
• ▹Participate in architecture decisions around scalability, multi-tenancy, observability, and distributed communication
• ▹Own the full technical lifecycle: business modeling, API design, deployment, monitoring, and production optimization
• ▹Collaborate closely with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to continuously deliver production-ready features
• ▹Architect REST APIs and event-driven integrations with partners via REST, SOAP, gRPC, and messaging systems
• ▹Optimize relational data models on SQL Server and PostgreSQL for performance and maintainability
• ▹Deploy and operate containerized services with Docker on AWS, ensuring resilience and observability
• ▹Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, LLM-based workflows) to improve team productivity and spread best practices

Requirements

• ▹At least 5 years of experience in backend development (Java and Spring Boot)
• ▹Solid command of relational databases and performance optimization
• ▹Proven experience with REST APIs and distributed systems
• ▹Good understanding of cloud-native architectures and containerized environments
• ▹Comfort working in high-availability, high-volume environments
• ▹Strong sense of responsibility and a high bar for reliability, performance, and maintainability

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with Kubernetes and advanced CI/CD pipelines
• ▹TDD practice with JUnit and Mockito
• ▹Experience with AI workflows or systems that facilitate ML/AI usage
• ▹Command of observability and monitoring tools
• ▹Knowledge of DDD and event-driven architectures
