Responsibilities

• ▹Explore modern engineering methods: applying the finite element method (FEM) and artificial intelligence to optimize the development process
• ▹Simulation concepts: design and implement innovative simulation strategies and techniques to predict product and process properties
• ▹Solve complex problems: work on PDEs, multi-scale and multiphysics problems using programming, numerical methods and mesh manipulation
• ▹Reduced order modelling (ROM) and surrogate modelling: research and apply AI surrogate algorithms to improve simulation accuracy, reduce computation time, and couple them with automatic optimization algorithms
• ▹Physics AI: develop AI and machine learning models that accurately capture physical laws and phenomena to solve complex problems

Requirements

• ▹Enrolled student in engineering sciences, applied mathematics, physics, computational engineering or a comparable field
• ▹Interest in and initial experience with forming technology, metal processing and programming
• ▹Enthusiasm for machine learning, Python programming and numerical methods
• ▹Structured, independent way of working combined with willingness for effective teamwork
