Software License Manager

BayWa AG is looking for a Software License Manager for its Corporate IT unit in Munich. The role covers managing software license contracts and inventories, running license audits, and ensuring compliant licensing of the software in use.

Stack

Responsibilities

  • Document and manage software license contracts and inventories
  • Support the procurement of new software products
  • Contribute to external audits and conduct internal license audits
  • Perform license measurements and prepare license balances
  • Advise management on the compliant licensing of software products in use
  • Coordinate necessary measures together with business departments
  • Maintain license metrics and manage a professional SAM tool (e.g. Matrix42)
  • Ensure compliance in software licensing
  • Review and assess EULAs and terms and conditions of software contracts

Requirements

  • Degree in business informatics, computer science, business administration, business law or a comparable field
  • Entry-level to several years of practical experience in software license management, software contracts or IT asset management
  • Basic understanding of software installations, software inventory and IT infrastructure
  • Structured, goal-oriented and precise way of working

Nice to have

  • Experience with software asset management tools
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft licensing models (e.g. M365, Azure, volume licensing)
