Responsibilities

• ▹Contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced algorithms improving video compression efficiency
• ▹Participate in research and development of AI-based compression tools
• ▹Represent Qualcomm in standardization forums (JVET, MPEG Video, ITU-T/VCEG)
• ▹Document and present new algorithms and implementations via standards contributions, patents, and publications

Requirements

• ▹Expert knowledge of theory, algorithms, and techniques in video and image coding, including latest standards (HEVC, VVC)
• ▹Experience with deep learning architectures (CNN, RNN, autoencoders)
• ▹Track record of research accomplishments through publications and/or patents in video coding or processing
• ▹Solid C/C++ programming combined with knowledge of a machine learning framework (PyTorch or TensorFlow)
• ▹Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• ▹Master's or PhD with relevant experience or publications in video compression, video/image processing, computer vision, or machine learning
• ▹Bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering plus 6+ years experience (or Master's +5 years, or PhD +4 years)
• ▹1+ year of experience with a programming language such as C, C++, or MATLAB
