Director/Principal Engineer – Automotive Software

Responsibilities

• ▹Lead the technical aspects of automotive software projects from concept to completion.
• ▹Build and maintain relationships with the OEM's engineering executives, architects, and program leads.
• ▹Coordinate Qualcomm's internal engineering teams (hardware, software, systems, safety, test) to meet customer milestones.
• ▹Define technical solution proposals based on Qualcomm's SoC, BSP, and platform software portfolio.
• ▹Drive resolution of critical technical issues, coordinating with the customer and Qualcomm management.
• ▹Support design reviews, workshops, and on-site integration activities.
• ▹Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks.

Requirements

• ▹Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems or Computer Science and 8+ years of software engineering experience (or Master's + 7 years, or PhD + 6 years).
• ▹4+ years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python.

Nice to have

• ▹Extensive experience in software engineering project leadership and management.
• ▹Strong background in automotive systems engineering: SoC, GPU/DSP, accelerator architecture.
• ▹Familiarity with embedded software stacks (QNX, Linux, Android, middleware, frameworks).
• ▹Knowledge of automotive safety and quality standards (ISO 26262, ASPICE, cybersecurity standards).
• ▹Proven experience as a customer-facing technical leader (chief engineer, system architect, program lead).
• ▹Ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority in a complex matrix organization.
• ▹Willingness to travel regularly, domestically and internationally.
