Demo Engineer

Box's Demo Engineering team sits at the intersection of Sales, Product, and Engineering, building full working prototypes that show customers how Box solves their specific problems, from AI-powered content workflows to deep integrations. The Demo Engineer owns the integration and AI layer: showcasing Box content exposed via its MCP server inside external AI platforms, building self-serve demo assets, and custom builds for high-priority deals.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain demo environments showcasing Box's AI and integration capabilities (Box AI, Agents, MCP server)
  • Develop demo workflows connecting Box's MCP server with other services and MCP servers to show multi-platform scenarios
  • Own a library of self-serve demo assets that the global sales team can use independently
  • Provide hands-on demo build support for high-priority opportunities
  • Contribute to analyst briefings, BoxWorks, and strategic deal pursuits
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to keep demo environments current with new releases
  • Help define and evolve the technical demo strategy for Box's AI and integration story

Requirements

  • Technical foundation (degree in CS, engineering, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Understanding of how modern AI systems connect to external tools and data: MCP servers, agent orchestration, API-driven workflows, prompt configuration
  • Confident with code: building demo applications, contributing to existing projects, understanding unfamiliar codebases
  • Ability to translate a business problem into a technical demo
  • Thinks in workflows: connecting the right services and configuring tools into a compelling end-to-end story
  • Naturally collaborative and communicative with SEs, sellers, product managers, and occasionally customers
  • Thrives in environments where priorities shift often
  • Takes ownership of assigned demo domains
