Responsibilities

• ▹Contribute to cloud storage features, implementing well-scoped pieces of larger projects
• ▹Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code with guidance from senior engineers
• ▹Contribute to design documentation for the features you work on
• ▹Participate in testing and rollout of software across the stack, from bare metal to user-facing APIs
• ▹Take part in code reviews, architecture and design discussions
• ▹Actively grow technical skills through mentorship, pairing and collaboration
• ▹Participate in team initiatives like tech talks, open source exploration and book clubs

Requirements

• ▹Some hands-on experience (internships, school projects, or ~1 year of professional work) building or operating software systems
• ▹Familiarity with core software engineering practices: coding standards, code reviews, source control (e.g. Git), testing, basic CI/CD or build processes
• ▹Working knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java or Go
• ▹Basic understanding of Linux fundamentals and computer architecture concepts
• ▹Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• ▹Strong desire to learn storage systems and distributed computing concepts

Nice to have

• ▹Coursework, personal projects or internship experience involving storage technologies (e.g. NVMe, SSDs) or distributed systems
• ▹Exposure to storage protocols such as NFS, SMB, iSCSI or NVMe-oF
• ▹Contributions to open source projects
• ▹Basic understanding of networking concepts
