Solutions Engineer, Okta (Enterprise)

Responsibilities

• ▹Work alongside the Corporate/New Business sales team as the technical expert
• ▹Deliver product demonstrations based on understanding customer challenges and business needs
• ▹Answer product and technical questions from customers, partners, and colleagues
• ▹Plan and deliver Proof of Concepts for customers with complex use cases
• ▹Provide feedback to product management about potential enhancements
• ▹Share best practices and reusable assets with other Solutions Engineers
• ▹Stay current on competitive analysis and market differentiation
• ▹Support marketing events including executive briefings, conferences, and user groups

Requirements

• ▹5+ years of pre-sales engineering experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM)
• ▹Strong understanding of IAM concepts, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML
• ▹Experience with lifecycle management, role-based access control (RBAC), and provisioning/deprovisioning
• ▹Hands-on experience in web (JavaScript, HTML, frontend frameworks), mobile (iOS, Android), or backend (Java, C#, Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby) development
• ▹Experience with REST APIs, API Gateways, and SDKs
• ▹Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Vercel)
• ▹Understanding of core application security concerns: password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, XSRF
• ▹Customer-facing experience, ideally in pre-sales, consulting, or support
• ▹Territory management skills, including pipeline building
• ▹Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or comparable field (preferred)

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with Auth0, Auth0 FGA, or OpenFGA
• ▹Hands-on experience with Generative AI or LLM technology (LangChain, GenKit, LlamaIndex)
• ▹Experience integrating with microservices, data lakes, or customer data platforms
• ▹Experience developing ReBAC or fine-grained authorization models
