Responsibilities

• ▹Install, configure, maintain and further develop Oracle and/or IBM Db2 database environments
• ▹Analyze and optimize database performance (SQL tuning, indexing strategies, workload management)
• ▹Plan and implement backup and recovery strategies, support high-availability architectures (e.g. Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, Db2 PureScale)
• ▹Support the build-out of automated operational processes, e.g. scripting in Bash or Python, monitoring and reporting solutions
• ▹Implement and further develop database security and compliance concepts (authentication, authorization, encryption, auditing)
• ▹Work closely with infrastructure and development teams to ensure stable, efficient database operations

Requirements

• ▹Completed training or degree in computer science or a related field
• ▹Experience operating and administering databases (Oracle and/or IBM Db2)
• ▹Good knowledge of SQL and database architectures
• ▹Experience with backup, recovery and high-availability concepts
• ▹Analytical mindset with a structured, solution-oriented way of working
• ▹Teamwork, communication skills and initiative

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard or IBM Db2 PureScale
• ▹Scripting knowledge (e.g. Bash or Python)
• ▹Experience in database performance tuning
• ▹Oracle or IBM database certifications
