Database Administrator

Database Engineer / DBA • On-site • Full-time Austria Innsbruck, Austria

Accenture is looking for a Database Administrator to operate and further develop business-critical database landscapes. The role focuses on Oracle (including RAC) or IBM Db2 PureScale environments, covering everything from installation to performance optimization and high-availability/recovery concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain and further develop Oracle and/or IBM Db2 database environments
  • Analyze and optimize database performance (SQL tuning, indexing strategies, workload management)
  • Plan and implement backup and recovery strategies, support high-availability architectures (e.g. Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, Db2 PureScale)
  • Support the build-out of automated operational processes, e.g. scripting in Bash or Python, monitoring and reporting solutions
  • Implement and further develop database security and compliance concepts (authentication, authorization, encryption, auditing)
  • Work closely with infrastructure and development teams to ensure stable, efficient database operations

Requirements

  • Completed training or degree in computer science or a related field
  • Experience operating and administering databases (Oracle and/or IBM Db2)
  • Good knowledge of SQL and database architectures
  • Experience with backup, recovery and high-availability concepts
  • Analytical mindset with a structured, solution-oriented way of working
  • Teamwork, communication skills and initiative

Nice to have

  • Experience with Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard or IBM Db2 PureScale
  • Scripting knowledge (e.g. Bash or Python)
  • Experience in database performance tuning
  • Oracle or IBM database certifications
