FPGA Design Engineer

In Ditzingen, the team works on security solutions for monitoring and securing borders, protecting civil and military facilities, and tactical communication. The role is part of the expert team for radio equipment, cybersecurity, cryptography, encryption components and hardware security modules.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of system architectures, system specifications and system design based on the system specification, using your technical expertise
  • Develop reusable components together with colleagues
  • Accompany projects from proposal creation to the final product
  • Create documentation for your FPGAs
  • Work with the team on the continuous improvement of the development environment

Requirements

  • Completed degree in electrical engineering with a focus on communications engineering or comparable
  • Several years of experience in FPGA development
  • Programming skills in VHDL, Python and TCL
  • Experience with Xilinx and Lattice FPGAs including backend flow, plus knowledge of test frameworks (e.g. cocotb, VUnit, OSVVM, UVVM) and tools such as ModelSim or QuestaSim
  • Experience in cryptography and version control systems, particularly Git
