GPU Implementation Engineer (Austin & San Diego)

A Power Implementation Engineer role on Qualcomm's Adreno GPU team, responsible for power estimation, implementation, verification and minimization for GPU cores, along with related methodology and flow development, delivering GPU cores optimized for performance, power and area.

Responsibilities

  • Technology exploration
  • Power analysis and estimation
  • Analyzing performance and power on specific use cases
  • RTL and synthesis-based power optimization
  • Thermal analysis and optimization
  • Performance, power and area modeling and optimization
  • SoC design implementation and methodology
  • Semi-custom design flow and methodology development

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or related field
  • Strong understanding of ASIC design methodology on the latest process technology
  • Willingness to learn and solve challenging problems
  • 4+ years of software, hardware or systems engineering experience (or Master's + 3 years, or PhD + 2 years)

Nice to have

  • Master's or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of relevant GPU experience
  • 2+ years of experience working with senior leadership (Director level and above)
  • Knowledge of performance and power modeling
  • Familiarity with power analysis flows (e.g., Power Artist, PrimeTimePX)
  • Knowledge of power minimization techniques (clock gating, power gating, multi-VT design)
  • Experience with power intent design and verification (isolation, level shifters, retention)
  • Familiarity with System Verilog RTL and simulation
  • Familiarity with scripting on Linux, TCL and Perl/Python
  • Familiarity with synthesis, static timing analysis and formal verification
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, problem-solving and communication skills
