Software Engineer, Sr - Power and Limits Management

Responsibilities

• ▹Multiple aspects of software development: analyzing requirements, designing robust software solutions, ensuring power efficiency for current and next-generation chipsets across SoC subsystems
• ▹Perform detailed analysis of existing software to recommend improvements in performance, memory and power utilization (optimizations, SW/HW partitioning, new algorithms)
• ▹Develop tools for silicon profiling, validation and debugging across all SOC components
• ▹Involvement in pre-silicon evaluations and sign-offs
• ▹Scope opportunities for HW acceleration and provide recommendations to the HW team
• ▹Develop firmware for memory and CPU constrained systems
• ▹Manage performance/thermal efficiency tradeoffs
• ▹Manage SOC level interactions between software components
• ▹Apply machine learning on datasets spanning generations of product architectures
• ▹Work with various HLOS (e.g. Android) on application cores for end-to-end performance

Requirements

• ▹Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering experience (or Master's + 1 year, or PhD)
• ▹2+ years of academic or work experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Nice to have

• ▹4 to 8 years of experience in Computer Architecture (ARM architecture preferred)
• ▹Real Time Operating Systems
• ▹C/ASM programming
• ▹Debugging Real Time Embedded Systems using JTAG or equivalent
• ▹Compilers / Linkers
• ▹Python Scripting
• ▹Ability to read hardware programming guides and write drivers/software based on that information
• ▹Embedded software
• ▹Machine Learning
• ▹Agile development; Kanban
• ▹Version control systems such as Perforce/Git
