Medior/Senior GRC Cybersecurity Consultant

Security Engineer • Senior • On-site • Full-time Hungary Budapest, Hungary

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Consultant with a focus on Governance, Risk or Compliance (GRC) to join the cybersecurity team of an international accounting and business advisory firm. The role involves assessing, designing and implementing clients' cybersecurity governance and technical capabilities as part of a team serving clients across the EMEA region.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, design and implement clients' cybersecurity governance and technical capabilities
  • Understand clients' unique business needs and challenges to align security objectives
  • Harmonize internal and external risk and compliance requirements into tailored frameworks and operating models
  • Provide expert guidance on regulatory compliance and industry best practices, including gap analysis and risk mitigation recommendations
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted cybersecurity advisor
  • Stay up to date on cybersecurity trends, technologies and emerging threats

Requirements

  • Critical thinking, problem-solving and strong attention to detail
  • Degree in IT, information security or a related field
  • At least 2-4 years of experience in a cybersecurity role
  • Experience in IT consulting
  • Strong project and time management skills, able to handle multiple parallel tasks
  • Excellent English for communication with clients across the EMEA region

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with information security frameworks and standards (e.g. OWASP, NIST, CIS, SOC2)
  • Vendor-specific or vendor-neutral IT security certification (e.g. CISSP, OSCP, Microsoft, CCNA, CCNP, CCSP)
  • Experience securing cloud environments, particularly Microsoft 365 and Azure security solutions
  • CISA, CISM, CISSP or similar IT security qualification
  • Confident active German language skills
