SAP Principal Architect, Transportation Management

As Amgen's SAP TM solution architect, this role owns the design, architecture, build, test and implementation of the SAP S/4 Transportation Management solution across Amgen's manufacturing and distribution sites, working closely with business teams and other ERP solution architects on end-to-end solution design.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the successful design, architecture, build, test and implementation of the SAP S/4 Transportation Management solution
  • Partner with business leads to develop business cases for the IT roadmap and business strategy
  • Collaborate with Operations IS and other ERP solution architects (Order-to-Cash, Record to Report, Source to Settle) on cross-functional integrations and E2E solution design
  • Serve as solution owner for SAP transportation management within the global ERP architecture team
  • Lead continuous improvements to drive IT effectiveness
  • Identify future business needs and prioritize resources for business-critical projects
  • Deliver on portfolio investments and ensure business value realization
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives required for regulatory compliance
  • Influence architecture decisions and solution choices with business stakeholders and enterprise architects
  • Manage implementation vendors against project scope, SLAs and critical metrics
  • Drive configuration and development activities with internal and external teams
  • Ensure SAP TM functional, configuration and technical documentation complies with GxP requirements
  • Support Validation/QA teams in ensuring GxP compliance of SAP TM capabilities (21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11)

Requirements

  • Doctorate + 2 years, OR Master's + 6 years, OR Bachelor's + 8 years, OR Associate's + 10 years, OR High school diploma + 12 years of SAP TM implementation experience

Nice to have

  • 10-15 years of SAP Transportation Management experience with at least 3-4 end-to-end S/4 TM implementations
  • Good understanding of SAP supply chain processes
  • Knowledge of SAP TM master data, transportation requirement management, planning/execution, charge calculation and freight settlement
  • Real-time tracking, monitoring, exception handling and analysis of orders, deliveries, shipments and containers
  • OTR/DTR processes, planning profiles, condition optimizer planning, carrier selection/tendering and cost distribution
  • Knowledge of domestic and international inbound/outbound shipments, FTL/LTL
  • Experience integrating SAP TM with other SAP modules (SD, MM, FI, EM, GTS, EHS, EWM)
  • Experience integrating SAP TM with Logistics Business Network (LBN) and GTT, carrier onboarding experience
  • Excellent communication skills, translating technology solutions into business terms
