SW Engineer, Authorizations

The Authorizations squad processes and validates financial transactions in real time, ensuring compliance with issuer- and client-defined authorization rules. It operates within the critical payment authorization layer using modern technologies and distributed architecture to keep transactions secure, fast and reliable.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable, resilient banking and payment services
  • Build and evolve orchestration layers integrating internal and external services
  • Develop RESTful APIs and reusable components in a microservices architecture
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, QA and DevOps teams
  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability
  • Apply modern engineering best practices prioritizing security, performance and scalability
  • Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions
  • Work in a well-documented environment with clear communication
  • Engage in mentoring, continuous learning and technical improvement

Requirements

  • Based in Brazil
  • English proficiency at B2 level (intermediate)
  • Prior experience with any programming language

Nice to have

  • Experience with Java / Groovy or Golang
  • Knowledge of AWS services: SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, S3, EventBridge
  • Understanding of distributed systems and microservices
  • Experience with REST APIs
  • Working knowledge of Git and version control workflows
  • Testing mindset with unit and integration testing experience
  • Knowledge of SQL (MySQL or PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB)
  • Exposure to high-scale, high-availability environments
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Docker/containers
  • Knowledge of messaging systems and event-driven architectures
  • Understanding of observability practices (monitoring, tracing, alerting)
  • Agile background and production support experience
  • Working knowledge of Terraform or other IaC tools
