Quantitative Researcher

MSCI's Model Validation team in Budapest is looking for a Quantitative Researcher to conduct applied research and act as a key internal client, supporting the go-to-market of new analytical models and advising clients on effective modeling choices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough conceptual and practical understanding of MSCI analytics by applying them to realistic investment management problems
  • Use this understanding to drive new sales and client adoption, establish model validation standards, and identify new opportunities for model and product innovation
  • Conduct and publish applied research on market and regulatory developments related to the effective application of MSCI analytics
  • Engage with clients in an advisory capacity and identify new commercial opportunities

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in finance, physics, mathematics, statistics, operations research, economics, or another quantitative discipline
  • Strong quantitative, programming and problem-solving skills, with a deep interest in financial modeling
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively at a high level to varied audiences

Nice to have

  • A background in finance or experience designing, implementing, and testing quantitative models
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong time management across multiple projects
