AI engineering role at thyssenkrupp's Hungarian development centre, responsible for developing and operationalising solutions across both classical machine learning and modern generative AI use cases. The work covers end-to-end AI systems from data preparation to production deployment, in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
- ▹Develop and operationalise solutions across classical AI/ML/DL and generative AI use cases
- ▹Build, evaluate and optimise machine learning and deep learning models for business applications
- ▹Integrate data and AI services from APIs, third-party platforms, cloud services and internal systems
- ▹Develop robust pipelines for data preparation, feature engineering, model inference and AI workflow orchestration
- ▹Ensure solution quality through testing, monitoring, validation, performance optimisation and responsible AI practices
- ▹Collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, web application developers and other stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure data is readily available and accessible
- ▹Document architectures, processes and implementations, and promote best practices in AI engineering and MLOps
Requirements
- ▹At least 2 years of experience in machine learning engineering, AI/GenAI engineering, applied ML or data science
- ▹Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- ▹Strong proficiency in Python for AI/ML development, data science, scripting and automation
- ▹Experience with relevant Python libraries and frameworks such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch and/or TensorFlow
- ▹Solid knowledge of SQL and PySpark for querying, transforming and processing data at scale
- ▹Experience working with Databricks as a central data platform for analytics, data processing and AI/ML use cases
- ▹Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications, including RAG pipelines, agent frameworks, vector databases and evaluation methodologies
- ▹Practical knowledge of Docker and containerisation for packaging and deploying AI solutions
- ▹Experience integrating data and services through APIs, cloud services and internal enterprise systems
- ▹Proficiency with version control systems such as Git
Nice to have
- ▹Ideally FastAPI for API-based integrations
- ▹Production experience on Azure (App Service, Container Apps, Key Vault, Storage, Azure OpenAI / AI Foundry, AI Search) preferred
- ▹Exposure to orchestration and workflow tools such as Airflow, Kafka or similar technologies is a plus
