Staff Software Engineer – Mobile (Android)

Neon, a Brazilian fintech, is looking for a Staff Software Engineer – Android to lead the technical evolution of the app's Home screen. The role centers on personalizing the user experience, high availability, extreme quality, and deep business understanding in a fintech context, including shaping the company's hybrid technology strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Design, direct and ensure the scalability of the Home screen's architecture, serving as a technical reference for the team and the wider engineering organization
  • Lead the strategic adoption of modern technologies, with a focus on building a hybrid (Android/iOS) environment
  • Promote engineering best practices: high test coverage, rigorous code review, and mentoring for senior and mid-level engineers
  • Closely monitor the app's production health (performance, bugs, crashes, latency), ensuring resilience in a mission-critical fintech environment
  • Partner closely with PMs, designers and stakeholders to translate complex business challenges into elegant, performant technical solutions

Requirements

  • Solid, proven experience in native Android development using Kotlin
  • Deep command of the modern Android ecosystem: Jetpack Compose, Hilt, Navigation, Room, Coroutines and Flow
  • Deep knowledge of high-performance, scalable architectures such as Clean Architecture, MVVM, MVI and SOLID principles
  • Experience with production monitoring and analytics tools (Firebase, Mixpanel or similar)
  • Solid experience with CI/CD and test automation
  • Strong communication skills to act as a technical facilitator across agile teams (Jira, Kanban)

Nice to have

  • Android (Kotlin) specialist with interest in also working with iOS
  • Knowledge of Server-Driven UI (SDUI) and building AI agents
  • Prior experience using AI or predictive models for personalization
  • Prior experience in the financial sector (fintechs, large banks or big techs with financial products)
