QA Automation Lead - Data Intelligence

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, scale and maintain robust automation frameworks for the complex SaaS and distributed data architecture of the Actian Data Intelligence Platform
• ▹Embed automated test suites into the CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• ▹Drive deep integration, API, performance, resilience and data-integrity automation across the product stack
• ▹Act as the technical authority for the QA automation squad, with clean code standards and rigorous code reviews
• ▹Coach junior automation engineers and guide functional QA testers toward automated practices
• ▹Allocate engineering capacity across feature testing, framework enhancement and technical debt reduction
• ▹Own the final quality sign-off for platform releases, with authority to halt deployments
• ▹Collaborate with Product Management, Core Engineering and DevOps to plan automation before the code is written
• ▹Analyze production leaks with the Sustaining Engineering team and write automated tests to reproduce bugs
• ▹Track, isolate and eliminate flaky tests
• ▹Track and report QA metrics (test coverage, automation pass rates, execution time, defect leakage rate)
• ▹Use modern AI tools to accelerate test case generation, optimize test suites and predict defect hot-spots

Requirements

• ▹Strong background as a Senior SDET or QA Automation Lead testing complex enterprise SaaS, distributed systems, big data engines or data platforms
• ▹Deep expertise in coding languages (Java, Python or Go) and modern testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or custom-built)
• ▹Exceptional SQL skills and API testing expertise
• ▹Proactive, extreme-ownership mindset
• ▹Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and version control workflows (GitHub)
• ▹Savvy with AI assistants and generative AI tools for test suites, mock data and failure analysis
• ▹Exceptional verbal and written English communication
