Responsibilities

• ▹Own and deliver quarterly goals, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems
• ▹Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation and risk/trade-off decisions
• ▹Proactively identify project, process, technology, or business issues and lead in solving them
• ▹Support the operations and availability of the team's artifacts: metrics, escalation, and "keep the lights on"/on-call efforts
• ▹Foster a culture of quality and ownership: set or improve code review and design standards, advocate for them beyond the team
• ▹Help develop talent on the team through feedback, guidance, and leading by example

Requirements

• ▹4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin
• ▹Track record developing highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
• ▹Experience defining a technical plan for delivering a significant feature or system component with an elegant, simple, extensible design
• ▹Proficiency making significant changes safely in a large codebase
• ▹Demonstrated ownership of your own growth, proactively seeking feedback
• ▹Strong verbal and written communication for effective collaboration with a global engineering team
• ▹Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field required
