Full Stack Developer - DevOps & Cloud Systems

BrightOrder, a fleet management technology company scaling fast across North America, is hiring a fully remote Full Stack Developer with strong DevOps and AWS experience to build, automate, and scale its cloud-based platform end-to-end, from backend services and APIs to frontend components.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications, backend services, APIs, and internal tools
  • Write clean, maintainable code using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Go (Golang)
  • Build and enhance frontend or internal tooling using React.js or similar frameworks
  • Develop RESTful APIs, integrations, and service-to-service communication
  • Build automation scripts and internal tools to improve deployments, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable releases
  • Configure and manage AWS services, including ECS, EKS, Lambda, EC2, RDS, S3, and CloudWatch
  • Optimize and maintain databases, including PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora
  • Use RabbitMQ or similar tools for inter-service communication
  • Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes/EKS
  • Use infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Build and maintain monitoring, logging, alerts, dashboards, and observability practices (New Relic, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and development teams to deliver secure, scalable releases
  • Use tools such as Jira Service Management/Jira Service Desk for issue tracking, escalation, and production support
  • Support production troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and system reliability improvements
  • Use AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or GitHub Copilot to support development, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience in a full stack, backend, DevOps, or cloud systems role
  • Strong proficiency with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React.js or another modern frontend framework
  • Solid experience designing and building backend services, RESTful APIs, integrations, and service-based systems
  • Intermediate hands-on experience with AWS services, including ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, EC2, S3, and CloudWatch
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, Docker, Kubernetes, and Git-based workflows
  • Strong database experience across relational and non-relational systems, including PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and MongoDB
  • Familiarity with RabbitMQ, Redis, microservices, serverless architectures, GraphQL, or real-time messaging
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as New Relic, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana
  • Understanding of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, application security, cloud security best practices, and vulnerability management
  • Experience building tools for developers, operations, QA, or support, including exposure to Jira Service Management workflows
  • Demonstrated use of AI-powered development tools for coding, documentation, testing, and troubleshooting
