Data Scientist – Decision Science & Modelling

M3 MR (part of M3 Inc.) is looking for a Data Scientist in London to design and build analytical models and decision-support systems that improve understanding, prediction and decision-making across the business, working with imperfect and uncertain data.
Responsibilities
- ▹Design, develop and maintain statistical, probabilistic and simulation-based models
- ▹Translate complex business questions into tractable modelling problems
- ▹Develop prototypes and working solutions iteratively
- ▹Design and analyse experiments to evaluate interventions and model effectiveness
- ▹Work with incomplete and evolving datasets; quantify and communicate uncertainty
- ▹Develop decision-support frameworks to improve operational and commercial decisions
- ▹Validate models through back-testing and sensitivity analysis; monitor performance over time
- ▹Partner closely with Business Analysts, Engineering and Product teams
- ▹Prepare models for production deployment together with Engineering, validate APIs and services
Requirements
- ▹Strong grounding in applied statistics, modelling, data science, operational research, economics or mathematics
- ▹Experience building models that support real-world decisions, products or processes
- ▹Experience working with uncertainty and imperfect datasets
- ▹Strong problem decomposition and structured thinking skills
- ▹Strong coding skills in Python or R
- ▹Experience developing analytical solutions in code rather than spreadsheets
- ▹Experience taking models from prototype to operational deployment
Nice to have
- ▹Building simulation or digital twin style systems
- ▹Optimisation, operational research or decision science techniques
- ▹Working with survey, panel or market research data
- ▹Applying machine learning or AI techniques to business problems
- ▹Model monitoring, governance and validation practices
- ▹Modern AI and generative AI approaches
- ▹Software development lifecycles and productionisation of analytical solutions
