Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, implement and maintain scalable REST APIs to power Axios products
• ▹Build and optimize resilient, performant and maintainable backend services in Golang and Python
• ▹Design and evolve database schemas and performant queries for new features and business requirements
• ▹Work closely with front-end engineers, quality engineers, designers and product managers
• ▹Write unit, integration and end-to-end tests and ensure backend systems are covered by automated tests
• ▹Monitor system health, contribute to logging and metrics, and proactively improve performance and scalability
• ▹Use AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code to accelerate development and improve code quality
• ▹Participate in code reviews and propose improvements to architecture and practices

Requirements

• ▹2-5+ years in backend or full-stack development with hands-on Golang and/or Python experience
• ▹Strong understanding of designing and consuming RESTful APIs
• ▹Familiarity with relational databases (e.g. Postgres, MySQL) and ORMs (e.g. Gin, Django)
• ▹Experience with unit and integration testing in Golang and/or Python
• ▹Awareness of common patterns for scaling backend services and optimizing performance
• ▹Comfort using AI tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code in day-to-day work
• ▹Excellent communication skills and cross-functional work in an agile environment

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP or similar)
• ▹Experience with gRPC services
• ▹Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• ▹Observability and monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Honeycomb)
• ▹Knowledge of authentication, authorization and security best practices
• ▹Experience with performance or load testing of backend services
