Responsibilities

• ▹Architect a highly modular, easy-to-integrate iOS video player enabling other teams to build features effortlessly with first-class performance
• ▹Partner with backend media infrastructure and CDN teams to optimize global delivery and performance
• ▹Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering counterparts to execute product and business strategy
• ▹Work with a team of thoughtful, fast-moving engineers; set standards, recommend best practices, coach and mentor engineers
• ▹Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate prototyping, system design, and coding, validating and owning final outputs

Requirements

• ▹At least 8+ years of experience as a software engineer developing user-facing native iOS mobile applications at scale, using Swift
• ▹In-depth knowledge of AVFoundation for video and audio playback, asset management, streaming, editing, and exporting
• ▹Strong understanding of Core Media (timing/synchronization) and Core Video (buffer handling) for custom playback and real-time video manipulation
• ▹Familiarity with HLS, MPEG-DASH, MP4, and other streaming protocols, streaming frameworks and CDN integration
• ▹Familiarity with reactive frameworks (RxSwift, Combine)
• ▹Strong organizational skills, prioritizing tasks and delivering projects on schedule
• ▹BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• ▹Entrepreneurial spirit, self-directed, innovative, biased towards action
• ▹Excellent communication skills, collaborating effectively in a fully remote environment
