Faculty is seeking a visionary Computer Vision specialist to lead its most ambitious AI initiatives within the defence sector, bridging cutting-edge research and real-world deployment as a primary technical authority.
Responsibilities
- ▹Deliver high-impact, hands-on computer vision work and architect technical solutions for complex project requirements
- ▹Lead the technical delivery of CV projects and provide expert guidance to multidisciplinary teams throughout the development lifecycle
- ▹Win new business by contributing expert CV insight to bids and identifying opportunities to integrate advanced visual intelligence
- ▹Stay at the forefront of the field by mastering SOTA developments and sharing best practices across the business unit
- ▹Represent the organisation internally and externally as an authoritative voice and subject matter expert in computer vision
- ▹Partner with leadership to define the technical strategy for CV work and own capability development within the Defence domain
- ▹Mentor and develop talented team members who share an interest in CV, fostering continuous learning
Requirements
- ▹Deep understanding of State-of-the-Art Computer Vision AI approaches, applying both machine learning and classical CV techniques to real-world problems
- ▹Experienced technical leader who enjoys guiding teams and architecting system architectures with minimal oversight
- ▹Proven track record of deploying CV models into production, navigating real-world deployment, performance and latency
- ▹Meaningful experience in Python, including object-oriented programming, comfortable exploring low-level components when necessary
- ▹Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC), willingness to work 2-4 days per week on-site with defence customers
