Responsibilities

• ▹Own and drive the documentation for one or more product areas as the embedded technical writer in product teams
• ▹Work closely with engineers, product managers and designers so documentation is accurate, timely and aligned with feature development
• ▹Become a subject matter expert in assigned product areas, with hands-on experience that reflects real-world usage
• ▹Lead documentation efforts from concept through release: planning, writing, reviewing and maintaining content
• ▹Advocate for documentation as part of the user experience and bring the user's perspective into product discussions
• ▹Continuously improve the structure, clarity and completeness of documentation based on analytics, user feedback and your own insights
• ▹Collaborate with the Documentation team to share best practices and evolve tooling and standards

Requirements

• ▹5+ years of technical writing experience and a strong portfolio of developer-focused content such as user guides, installation guides, API references, tutorials and technical blog posts
• ▹Hands-on expertise with Java, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker and related technologies, and a proven ability to deeply understand complex technical products (ideally Camunda 8 or similar)
• ▹Experience writing about AI concepts, including large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), Model Context Protocol (MCP) and other emerging AI technologies
• ▹Ability to tailor content for diverse audiences: software engineers, application developers, business analysts and process owners
• ▹Experience with Docs-as-Code workflows and documentation frameworks such as Docusaurus, with Git and Markdown in a developer-centric environment
• ▹Ability and/or willingness to use the company's product

Nice to have

• ▹Comfortable iterating on an existing technical writing style guide and advocating for its use cross-functionally
• ▹Experience transitioning from engineers to technical writers as primary documentation authors
