Backend Software Engineer

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, build, and maintain backend infrastructure, APIs, and services at scale
• ▹Own the architecture and implementation of distributed systems behind high-volume, low-latency APIs
• ▹Solve hard scalability, latency, and performance problems in live production systems
• ▹Lead system design discussions, shape backend architecture direction
• ▹Set best practices for throughput, reliability, and latency
• ▹Validate performance through automated testing and benchmarking
• ▹Trace production issues across services and the full stack

Requirements

• ▹5+ years of relevant industry experience
• ▹BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• ▹Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining core backend components
• ▹Ability to solve complex design, scalability, latency, or performance problems in high-throughput, low-latency production systems
• ▹Production experience with Java, Rust
• ▹Experience in cloud-native environments, particularly AWS

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with managed Kubernetes platforms such as Amazon EKS
• ▹Comfortable working across the stack, including infrastructure and platform challenges
• ▹Experience building highly available, scalable distributed systems
• ▹Web3 experience
• ▹Founded a company or built side projects
• ▹Startup experience
