Principal Backend Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Define the vision for backend infrastructure supporting the developer platform and APIs, and lead the team executing it
• ▹Design, build, and maintain highly scalable and reliable infrastructure, APIs, and services
• ▹Lead system design discussions, stand-ups, and code reviews
• ▹Develop best practices for high throughput, high reliability, and low latency
• ▹Debug production issues across services and stack layers
• ▹Collaborate with engineers, technical leaders, product managers, and designers

Requirements

• ▹10+ years of relevant industry experience
• ▹BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent
• ▹Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining core backend components (API platform experience a plus)
• ▹Ability to solve complex design, scaling, latency, or performance problems in high-throughput, low-latency production systems
• ▹Production experience with Java, Golang, or C++
• ▹Experience in cloud-native environments, particularly AWS

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with managed Kubernetes layers like AWS EKS
• ▹Self-starter attitude
• ▹Balance between perfection and shipping quickly
• ▹Curiosity about leading-edge technology (crypto, AI)
