Engineering Manager, Optimize Interfaces

Responsibilities

• ▹Lead the cross-functional Optimization Interfaces team with hands-on technical leadership and mentoring
• ▹Work cross-functionally with Design, Product, Data and ML Engineers
• ▹Coach and motivate team members on engineering best practices, scalable architecture and roadmap
• ▹Maintain an inclusive, autonomous, accountable team culture
• ▹Design and implement new services with reliability, infra, data and dev in mind
• ▹Set individual and team goals aligned with strategic engineering ambitions
• ▹Create an inspiring, open-communication team environment
• ▹Recruit new team members aligned with Adyen culture

Requirements

• ▹Affinity for the payments optimization domain
• ▹Energetic self-starter experienced in aligning multiple teams
• ▹Experience with Core Java, distributed systems, machine learning products and BI tools (e.g. Looker)
• ▹Ability to define, implement and monitor performance for improvement opportunities
• ▹Experience coaching and mentoring engineering talent
• ▹Experience leading technical projects in fast-paced, critical environments
• ▹Experience collaborating with senior leadership on strategic direction
• ▹Excellent communicator and team player
• ▹5+ years managing engineering teams within a Java environment
• ▹5+ years in software development in a fast-paced tech environment
• ▹Familiarity working with Machine Learning and Data Engineering teams is a strong advantage

Nice to have

• ▹Prior experience leading or mentoring data professionals
