Data Scientist

Data Engineer • On-site • Full-time • 📍 In-Office

Cloudflare's Bengaluru team is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to build predictive models and AI/ML workflows that power go-to-market, engineering, and product teams, including GenAI-driven applications, agents, and chatbots.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders, stakeholders, product managers, and internal teams to address business and product challenges using predictive analytics in a globally distributed environment
  • Understand the data landscape (tooling, tech stack, source systems) and work with data engineering to improve data collection and quality
  • Align analysis efforts with business/product strategy and roadmap to help achieve strategic goals
  • Present findings with strong, audience-focused storytelling that highlights key takeaways clearly and concisely
  • Define, implement, and train statistical, machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI models
  • Publish model scores, insights, and learnings at scale using software engineering best practices
  • Identify macro- and micro-level trends with statistical significance and understand their key drivers
  • Take an active role in hiring, growing, and mentoring the data scientist team in Bengaluru

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or M.S. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field
  • 4-9 years of data science experience with a proven track record in a large-scale environment (petabyte scale, globally distributed teams)
  • Strong experience working with business functions such as Finance, Sales, and Marketing to build models and drive impactful business outcomes (e.g. customer and revenue growth)
  • 3+ years of experience at a fast-growing SaaS company preferred
  • Strong experience in scientific computing using Python
  • Experience with Spark, SQL, Tableau, Google Analytics, BigQuery, or equivalent big data/cloud tools
  • Experience working with structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration experience with data engineering and data analyst teams
  • Proven track record of applying data insights and machine learning to address business needs and drive revenue
  • Proficiency in large language models and frameworks (Langchain, Langgraph, etc.) for building GenAI applications such as AI agents and chatbots
  • Strong communication and presentation skills tailored to different audiences
  • Experience hiring data scientists and establishing team best practices preferred
