Test Automation Engineer (Playwright / Selenium / Cypress) - German Speaking (REF5606U)

An experienced Test Automation Engineer role responsible for automated UI and end-to-end testing of web applications using modern tools (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress), integrated into CI/CD pipelines, in collaboration with developers and Product Owners.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, maintaining and stabilizing automated UI and end-to-end tests for web applications
  • Using and further developing web test automation frameworks (e.g. Playwright, Selenium, Cypress)
  • Integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Designing and maintaining test architectures (e.g. Page Object Pattern)
  • Analyzing errors, debugging and evaluating test results
  • Analyzing test reports, screenshots, videos and traces
  • Collaborating with development teams, test managers and Product Owners
  • Continuously improving testing processes in an agile environment

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in web test automation
  • Practical experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress or a similar test automation framework
  • Experience developing automated UI and E2E tests
  • Confident programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Python or C#
  • Experience with test automation in CI/CD environments (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, DOM structures and web technologies
  • Experience designing stable selectors and test architectures
  • German language skills at minimum B1-B2 level

Nice to have

  • ISTQB Foundation or ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer certification
  • Playwright, Selenium or Cypress certification or verifiable practical experience
  • API testing experience (REST, Postman, Playwright API Testing)
  • Using Xray/Jira for test documentation, execution and reporting
  • Cross-browser testing experience
  • Knowledge of cloud-based test platforms (e.g. BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, Selenium Grid)
  • Experience in accessibility, performance or visual regression testing
  • Docker and containerization knowledge for setting up test environments
  • Experience using reporting tools (e.g. Allure, Mochawesome, Playwright HTML Report, JUnit XML)
