Responsibilities

• ▹Build backend systems that make the lab programmable
• ▹Architect data pipelines that process large-scale protein characterization data
• ▹Build APIs that integrate laboratory instruments and robotics into the software stack
• ▹Work closely with scientists and automation engineers to translate complex molecular biology workflows into reliable, scalable software

Requirements

• ▹Strong experience designing and building production backend systems (Python and TypeScript with Postgres; what matters is architecting reliable, maintainable systems)
• ▹Experience building data pipelines and processing infrastructure: handling large volumes of heterogeneous data from physical instruments (binding kinetics, enzyme activity, chromatography) and turning them into clean, structured datasets
• ▹Comfortable with API design and systems integration (connecting instruments, robotics and scheduling systems)
• ▹A genuine interest in biology (no background required)
• ▹High autonomy, founder mindset
• ▹Pragmatism: solving the problem well matters more than the stack or the tools
• ▹Enough experience writing software without AI to know what good code and good architecture look like
