Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Contribute large new features, significant product improvements, and critical bug fixes, such as extending Agent Hooks across IDEs
• ▹Make architectural decisions that keep integrations and public repositories scalable, secure, and aligned with 1Password's security model
• ▹Contribute to the team's roadmap by identifying technical opportunities and risks roughly 6 months out, then lead execution
• ▹Raise the quality bar by identifying code quality and testing gaps, and fostering strong documentation in community-facing repositories
• ▹Ensure alignment with cross-functional partners (Partnerships, Product, UX, SDK/CLI teams)
• ▹Drive initiatives that better support 1Password customers and mitigate developer-facing issues
• ▹Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment through best practices and constructive feedback

Requirements

• ▹Significant professional software development experience, with a track record of independently owning medium-to-large technical projects end to end
• ▹Advanced, hands-on command of a modern development toolchain (Git, IDEs, terminal, debugging and testing tools)
• ▹Experience designing extensible, maintainable systems (developer tooling, IDE extensions, agent integrations, actively maintained open-source projects)
• ▹Demonstrated ability to set technical direction and make architectural decisions
• ▹Experience working effectively in public with external contributors, upholding a high quality bar
• ▹Interest in agent-assisted development and building tools that make it smoother and more secure
• ▹Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• ▹A security-minded approach consistent with 1Password's principles

Nice to have

• ▹Experience maintaining a popular open-source project or running open-source community engagement
• ▹Familiarity with AI-enabled or agentic IDEs (e.g. Cursor) and the emerging agent-hook ecosystem
• ▹Experience contributing to an Open Source Program Office (OSPO) or similar function
