Software Engineer, Developer Experience (Go Lead)

Responsibilities

• ▹Build out Go as Notion's next fully supported language alongside TypeScript
• ▹Own the success of the Go platform while helping Developer Experience tackle other high-leverage problems (AI-assisted workflows, remote agent environments, CI performance, deployments)
• ▹Establish safe, reliable frameworks and patterns for running Go services at scale (deployment, observability, reliability)
• ▹Reduce toil and raise quality through AI-enabled tooling
• ▹Ship a concrete "Go platform v1" by day 90 that unblocks at least two production teams

Requirements

• ▹10+ years of hands-on software development experience in fast-paced, dynamic environments
• ▹Deep Go expertise, including experience operating production Go services at scale
• ▹Track record of defining, driving, and owning a platform adopted by other teams (libraries, golden paths, migration playbooks)
• ▹Strong systems judgment, making trade-offs explicit (speed vs safety, abstraction vs flexibility)
• ▹Curiosity and breadth to tackle the highest-leverage developer experience problems
• ▹Pragmatic, business-oriented approach
• ▹Willingness to adopt AI tools to work smarter

Nice to have

• ▹Experience using AI-enabled developer tooling (scaffolding, maintenance workflows, reliability checks)
• ▹Experience operating production-scale Kubernetes clusters
• ▹Familiarity with TypeScript for large codebase maintenance
