Staff Design Engineer – UK

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Solve the most challenging design problems within the product
• ▹Expand and enhance the in-house design system so other engineers can build on it
• ▹Consult and collaborate with Product Engineers on bespoke design work
• ▹Redesign the mobile web app's UX based on customer interviews, wireframes, and the design system
• ▹Build flexible, composable components other teams can use to assemble a consistent, polished UI

Requirements

• ▹Have practiced this flavor of Design Engineering professionally, even without a formal title
• ▹Made major, sustained contributions to a design system
• ▹Designed and implemented features for hundreds of users, then iterated based on user feedback
• ▹Set the bar for visual design taste and execution for the team
• ▹Ability to work independently with minimal process and structure

Nice to have

• ▹Experience building or extending a design system
• ▹Practice designing and implementing complex UI components (e.g. setup wizards)
