Forward Deployed Engineer, Agentic Platform

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll bridge Cohere's North AI workspace platform and customers' engineering teams — owning the design, build, and deployment of LLM-powered agentic workflows for critical sectors like finance, healthcare, and telecommunications.
Responsibilities
- ▹Translate ambiguous, high-value business problems into well-framed agentic workflows with clear success criteria and evaluation methodologies
- ▹Lead the design, build, and delivery of LLM-powered agents that reason, plan, and act, with enterprise-grade reliability and performance
- ▹Build and ship features for North across the full product lifecycle
- ▹Own the scoping and shaping of use cases end-to-end, including frontend work when needed
- ▹Contribute to shared frameworks and patterns for consistent, high-quality delivery
- ▹Drive clarity in ambiguous situations, build alignment, and raise engineering quality
- ▹Travel 20-40% to work on-site with customers and partners
Requirements
- ▹Hands-on experience building and deploying production-grade Python software; clean, testable, observable, scalable code
- ▹Built and deployed high-performing RAG and agentic applications, including agents executing multi-step tasks with patterns like ReAct or Plan-and-Execute
- ▹Deep familiarity with the LLM stack: frontier models, vector databases, orchestration frameworks
- ▹Proven ability to build robust evaluation frameworks to measure agent accuracy, safety, and latency
- ▹Experience working directly with customers, leading technical discussions with enterprise stakeholders
- ▹Experience owning the full scope of a use case end-to-end
- ▹Thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with shifting priorities
Nice to have
- ▹Experience setting architectural standards for AI and agentic systems across distributed teams
- ▹Experience flexing into unfamiliar technical areas, such as frontend
- ▹Exposure to regulated or sensitive industries (finance, healthcare, telecoms)
- ▹Experience with enterprise security, compliance, or auditability requirements for AI systems
