Lead IT Architect - German Speaking

Software Architect • Lead • On-site • Full-time • 📍 Budapest +3

An experienced IT Architect is needed to play a defining role, both strategically and technically, in designing and operating complex cloud and on-premise platforms.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end responsibility for the architecture of cloud and on-premise/private cloud platforms
  • Design and develop cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, T Cloud Public)
  • Build Kubernetes-based operations and deployment solutions
  • Design and evolve shared and managed service architectures
  • Develop high-level architectures and technical solutions for major projects, changes and transformations
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, multi-tenancy and security by design
  • Establish and maintain monitoring and KPI-based operations
  • Integrate governance and security requirements (e.g. corporate regulations, industry requirements)
  • Make architectural decisions considering cost, efficiency and business value
  • Balance standardization with custom solutions
  • Evaluate technology alternatives to support management decisions
  • Provide professional leadership to DevOps and System Engineering teams
  • Define operating models, roles and responsibilities
  • Define interfaces between platform, delivery and operations
  • Develop and maintain consistent architectural and operating principles
  • Work closely with internal teams, customers and management
  • Present complex technical concepts in an understandable way

Requirements

  • Several years (at least 3–5) of experience as an architect or senior/expert engineer
  • Deep technical knowledge of cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, T Cloud Public)
  • On-premise infrastructure, networking, virtualization and storage
  • Operating Kubernetes-based platforms
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / OpenTofu)
  • Automation and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet)
  • CI/CD solutions (GitLab, ArgoCD)
  • Experience in operational environments (SLA-based operations, incident and change management, managed services)
  • Architecture-level and strategic thinking
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Structured, documentation-oriented way of working
  • Confidence in technical and business discussions
  • High level of independence and decision-making ability
  • German language skills at least B2 level

Nice to have

  • Experience in security and compliance (e.g. DSGVO, BSI, PSA processes)
  • Knowledge of Policy as Code solutions (e.g. OPA, Kyverno)
  • Knowledge of service mesh technologies (e.g. Istio)
  • Experience in regulated or telco environments
