Implementation Engineer

Backend Developer • Remote • Full-time • 📍 PGH Office

As an Implementation Engineer at Abridge, you'll be the technical backbone of the post-sales journey, removing technical barriers for health systems and keeping integrations running smoothly.

Stack

Responsibilities

  • Own the post-sales technical execution of Abridge deployments, ensuring partner growth goals are met
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues across API connectivity, authentication, networking, data inconsistencies, and EHR configuration
  • Own higher-level technical escalations from partner-facing teams, coordinating with engineering when needed
  • Proactively monitor key account integration and product health metrics
  • Act as the technical bridge between partners and internal teams (Integration Engineering, Partner Success, Implementation)
  • Develop and maintain the product deployment playbook, including deployment guides and troubleshooting playbooks
  • Consult on technical requirements and risks for new feature deployments
  • Partner with engineering to build tooling that enhances real-time partner support

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, API architectures, authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML, JWT), and cloud infrastructure
  • Ability to debug API failures, network issues (DNS, firewalls, load balancers), and integration failures across distributed systems
  • Excellent communication, translating complex technical topics for any audience
  • Deeply cross-functional mindset, enjoying being the bridge between teams
  • Keen attention to detail and creative problem-solving in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to turn learnings into repeatable technical processes
  • 5+ years of experience supporting business-critical relationships with deep technical expertise

Nice to have

  • Experience integrating with EHR systems at large, complex organizations, with deep Epic configuration expertise
  • Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash, or SQL) to automate troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with systems requiring strict privacy and security protocols
  • Experience in customer success or account management with tiered support and escalation protocols
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
