Engineering Manager - Developer Experience *EU/UK remote* (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

• ▹Build and maintain the golden path: deployment templates, opinionated CI/CD patterns, production readiness checklists, onboarding flows
• ▹Own developer satisfaction as a metric: golden path adoption, deployment lead time, time-to-first-deploy
• ▹Standardise AI-assisted development tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, and others) across the company
• ▹Build the team from zero: own hiring, culture, and the technical bar from the first hire
• ▹Develop a Kubernetes-based platform: cluster APIs, namespaces, RBAC, admission control, deployment patterns
• ▹Build the Service Registry as the canonical source of truth for everything running on Kubernetes

Requirements

• ▹4+ years of software development experience with Python, including 2+ years in leadership/management; Go experience is a strong plus
• ▹Hands-on experience building CI/CD systems, internal developer portals, or golden paths
• ▹Deep experience with Kubernetes-based platforms: cluster APIs, namespaces, RBAC, admission control, deployment patterns
• ▹A product mindset for internal tooling — shipped something internal that people chose over the workaround
• ▹Experience hiring engineers and building a team from scratch
• ▹Security-first thinking that shows up in the design, not just the vocabulary
• ▹Fintech or regulated-environment experience (PCI DSS, SOC2) is a genuine advantage
• ▹Ability to read a stack trace, follow a build log, and tell a configuration issue from a code bug
• ▹Fluent in English
