Responsibilities

• ▹Design, build, and maintain the usage metering pipeline from Deepgram's inference and voice agent services
• ▹Build the aggregation layer that rolls raw usage events into summaries by customer, product, time window, and pricing dimension
• ▹Own integration with usage-based billing platforms (e.g., M3ter, Metronome)
• ▹Build and maintain CRM/RevOps integrations (Salesforce)
• ▹Develop customer-facing billing and usage views in the Deepgram Console
• ▹Own API key/token management and the permission model
• ▹Build internal analytics pipelines and dashboards for Product, Growth, and Finance
• ▹Implement automated reconciliation and self-healing mechanisms for data integrity

Requirements

• ▹5+ years building and operating billing, payments, metering, or financial data systems in a SaaS/usage-based pricing environment
• ▹Strong backend engineering skills, preferably in Rust, plus at least one of Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or Go
• ▹Deep experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and data pipeline design
• ▹Hands-on experience integrating with billing/subscription platforms (Stripe, M3ter, Metronome, Chargebee, Zuora) and CRM systems (Salesforce)
• ▹Understanding of usage-based pricing models and edge cases (proration, overages, commitments, credits, multi-currency)
• ▹A security-conscious mindset, especially around authentication and access control

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with usage-based billing platforms (M3ter, Metronome) or building custom metering systems
• ▹Familiarity with PLG patterns (self-serve signup, usage gating, upgrade flows)
• ▹Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS, Pub/Sub)
• ▹Background in RevOps, revenue recognition (ASC 606), or SOX-relevant billing controls
• ▹Experience with analytics/BI tooling (Looker, Metabase, dbt)
