Backend Engineer - Inference Services

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Improve Deepgram's core inference services (networking, speech processing, audio transcoding, latency and memory optimization)
• ▹Develop processes for measuring, building, and optimizing services to maximize system performance
• ▹Debug complex system issues involving networking, scheduling, and high-performance computing interactions
• ▹Rapidly customize backend services to support customer needs
• ▹Partner with Product to design and implement new services and features end to end

Requirements

• ▹3+ years of experience in an industry role
• ▹Programming experience in Rust (or C, C++), with competence in Python
• ▹Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
• ▹High level of experience with version control, preferably Git
• ▹Comprehensive experience with UNIX-style systems

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with modern machine learning, such as Torch or knowledge of CNN/RNN/transformer architectures
• ▹Experience with audio processing
