Responsibilities

• ▹Build system-level software from first principles rather than off-the-shelf 'kube-fits-all' solutions
• ▹Develop deep understanding of OS-level primitives (CPU, memory, network, kernel) for efficiency
• ▹Balance distributed systems thinking with simplicity — knowing when to reach for RAFT versus how far Postgres can go
• ▹Build Golang/Rust gRPC services from scratch to expose complex capabilities across the company in a scalable, performant way
• ▹Occasional on-call participation

Requirements

• ▹Strong understanding of distributed systems; ability to build fault-tolerant, resilient, scalable services
• ▹Good intuition for how long solutions will last (planning for 12-18 months at an early-stage startup)
• ▹Ability to implement a solution, monitor for its error boundaries, and document requirements
• ▹Strong sense of direction and prioritization amid early-stage startup ambiguity
• ▹Grit to dive into a problem, implement, scale, and replace a solution when needed
• ▹Strong communication skills
