Infra Engineer - Datacenters

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Build application-level code (Golang, gRPC, Postgres, etc.)
• ▹Make use of OS primitives (syscalls, cgroups, etc.)
• ▹Deliver projects 0-to-N: lead, scale, and own the outcomes
• ▹Participate in an on-call rotation, roughly 1-2 weeks per quarter
• ▹Build monitoring, alerts, and dashboards to catch problems before they break things

Requirements

• ▹Experience building application-level code (Golang, gRPC, Postgres, etc.)
• ▹Experience making use of OS primitives (syscalls, cgroups, etc.)
• ▹Track record delivering projects 0-to-N, leading and scaling them
• ▹Ability to operate with agency and urgency, including remotely
• ▹Foresight to ship for today, design for 10x, and engineer for 100x within 18 months
• ▹Clear communication via RFCs/docs to break up and deliver large, nebulous tasks
• ▹Willingness to be on-call, roughly 1-2 weeks per quarter
• ▹Experience constructing monitoring, alerts, and dashboards

Nice to have

• ▹Experience designing and procuring $1m+ hardware for datacenters
• ▹Experience managing and orchestrating global supply chains
• ▹Experience designing rack-level layouts for heat/energy efficiency
• ▹Experience building automated inventory systems up to PXE bootstrapping
