Quantitative Developer – Global Capital Markets

Backend Developer • On-site • Full-time • 📍 Budapest

Morgan Stanley's Budapest-based Global Capital Markets (GCM) division is looking for a self-motivated developer with strong technical and quantitative skills to build data-driven, productivity and risk-reduction solutions for the business.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with GCM stakeholders, strategists and controllers globally to develop metrics that provide actionable business insights and automate processes
  • Engineer reporting solutions, including data feeds, data storage optimization and metric calculations
  • Design, build and support business-facing tools and analytics solutions, including client targeting, management reporting and automated content generation
  • Design and build a secure and efficient system architecture

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Computer Science/Engineering or Finance/Economics) with software development experience
  • At least 3-4 years of relevant experience in a programming or quantitative role
  • Strong programming skills in at least one general purpose language (Python, C++, Java, JavaScript), experience with distributed computing environments
  • Knowledge of system design patterns and experience in system architecture
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot or other LLMs)
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, ability to build trusted partnerships across a global organization and all seniority levels
  • Strong time management skills, able to work on simultaneous items across multiple stakeholders with short lead times
