IBM AS400 – Power-i System Engineer / IT Consultant

Responsibilities

• ▹Advise clients on Power-environment projects, especially IBM i and AS400
• ▹Install and configure Power systems, tape storage systems, and HMC
• ▹Install and configure backup/data protection concepts
• ▹Perform release changes, PTF installations, and software updates on Power System i, HMC, and tape storage
• ▹Assemble hardware components
• ▹Install and configure PowerVM (VIOS) and virtualized client LPARs
• ▹Support the IT support team with troubleshooting

Requirements

• ▹Good knowledge of the IBM Power environment, especially IBM i
• ▹Hardware/software knowledge and experience designing, installing, and migrating native and virtualized environments
• ▹Storage experience (e.g., SVC, Storwize, SAN switches)
• ▹Customer-oriented, service-minded attitude
• ▹Good German and English skills, willingness to travel, Class B driver's license

Nice to have

• ▹Linux/AIX experience on Power
